Visakhapatnam: The city will be hosting another major event National Inter-District Junior Athletics Meet-2016 from November 25 to November 27 at Col CK Nayudu Stadium located at Ukkunagaram in the steel city. Around 3,400 athletes aged between 12 and 16 years from 610 districts of 20 States in the country will be taking part in the mega event. Officials said another 200 athletes are also likely to participate.
Vizag had hosted the same event on September 5, 6 and 7 in 2015.Special chief secretary sports and youth services L V Subrahmanyam held a review meeting with the officials and directed them to make elaborate arrangements to host the major event in a grand manner than that of last year. Union Minister M Venkaiah Naidu will be the chief guest and inaugurate the event, Subrahmanyam said.
