Giddalur: A former MPTC in Prakasam district was killed by unknown persons on Sunday. Giddalur mandal former MPTC Donapati Ramana( 37), a native of Gadikota village, was cultivating paddy in his farm. On Sunday, around 9 pm he went to the farm to supply water and secure the crop from wild boars. As he didn’t return home even after 8 am on Monday, his wife Sujatha went to farm and found him in a pool of blood.
On receiving information, Markapur DSP Srihari, CI Sriram and SI Mallikharjuna Rao reached the spot and said that the victim was stabbed at least five places, including head, back and legs with sharp objects and his throat was slit. Police asked the public to be vigilant about the movement of unknown persons in the village and inform police immediately if any unexpected incident occur in villages.
The villagers said that the deceased had no rivalry with anyone in the village, but are assuming that extramarital affair might be the reason for the murder.
