Kurnool: Banaganapalli MLA BC Janardhan Reddy expressed anger over Prasad, who is working as a Revenue Inspector in the Civil Supplies department for lifting rice from a Mandal Level Stock (MLS) point without Release Order (RO) from the officials concerned. He visited the MLS point on Monday, from where the rice is being supplied to all fair price shops in the constituency.

The MLA asked official to show the RO pertaining to the loaded rice in the lorry. As official failed to show RO, the MLA alleged that the Revenue Inspector is diverting the rice to black market. Janardhan Reddy stated that he will report to the district authorities and will recommend disciplinary action against him. Speaking to The Hans India, the Revenue Inspector said he had received instructions from the Joint Collector for the lifting of rice prior to receiving of RO.

Prasad said that the Joint Collector had issued orders to start lifting rice from November 19th and stop by 31st so that the distribution to 141 ration shops should start from December 1. “When the MLA asked me to show RO, I tried to show the message which I had received on my mobile. But, the MLA was not in a position to heed me,” he stated. Instead, the Revenue Inspector said that the MLA took his mobile and broke it.

The official said that he informed about the incident to Nandyal Revenue Divisional Officer Sudhakar Reddy and also brought to the notice of the Joint Collector. Prasad stated that he was discharging his duties as per the orders. “MLA obstructed me from carrying out government orders and levelled false allegations against me,” he said.
