Vijayawada: Central Crime Station (CCS) police arrested five persons at different places in city on Thursday, during a special drive for checking vehicles.

According to press release issued by the office of the Commissioner of Police (CP), the CCS Police took five people into custody and recovered 41 motor vehicles and one lorry from them, worth around Rs 25 lakh. CCS police recovered 37 motor vehicles from only Garibanedi Venkata Rao (32), a native of Guntur district and one lorry from Boppidi Nagababu (30), a native of Nuziveedu.

Police also recovered two motor vehicles from Kola Narasimha Rao (32) of Guntur district and two motor vehicles from Turaka Gopi (19) and Mullapati Venkatesh (19) of Krishna district.
