Bhimavaram: Bhimavaram police arrested two persons who were manufacturing adulterated cow ghee in the town on Thursday and seized Rs 50,000 worth products including phenol, gammexane powder, bleaching powder with artificial ingredients.
According to police, Sheikh Subhani and Sheikh Saleem of Chinaranganipalem area in I Town police station limits were manufacturing adulterated cow-ghee for quite some time and were preparing ghee with artificial material such as Dalda and other chemicals.
Besides this, the duo were also manufacturing adulterated phenol, Gammexane powder and bleaching powder by mixing lime powder and other material. On a tipoff, I Town CI D Venkateswara Rao, SI Chandrasekhar Reddy conducted raids and seized adulterated products.
