Curb ganja smuggling: Ayyanna

Visakhapatnam: Panchayat Raj Minister Ch Ayyanna Patrudu who held a meeting with Collector Praveen Kumar, Superintendent of Police Rahul Dev Sharma and excise officials on Thursday directed them to control the transportation of ganja from the district which had been on the rise in the district of late.

He asked the police and the excise wings to form special teams and conduct surprise raids and register criminal cases against the culprits assuring that there would be no political pressures.

The Minister also asked the Collector to initiate steps for controlling illegal sand transport.

MLAs Velagapudi Ramakrishna Babu, Peela Govinda Satyanarayana, Panchayat Raj SE Gajendra and others were present on the occasion.
