Nellore: District Collector R Mutyala Raju said that a team of 16 members that consists of professors and students from various colleges in the district would be sent to Acharya Nagarjuna University (ANU) located in Guntur to get first-hand knowledge on using mobile banking and other applications for cashless transactions. Later, the Collector participated in an awareness campaign on cashless transactions using smartphones in Golden Jubilee Hall here.

Speaking on the occasion, Mutyala Raju said that these trained members will act as Master Trainers in the district to organise awareness programmes in colleges and other educational institutions across the district. Training classes on usage of ePoS machine, SMS banking, Internet banking and other application based transactions would be imparted to the team members, he added. He said people deposited around Rs 2,100 crore in banks so far after demonetisation of higher denomination notes was devalued. Joint Collector A Md Imtiyaz and others were present.

Further, the Collector paid a surprise visit to Kamati Street, Santhapeta, Nazeer Thota areas on Thursday and enquired about progress of smart pulse survey. He suspended an enumerator Vijay Sagar temporarily from the activity for dereliction of duties.
