Deputy Chief Minister participates in ZP general body meeting

Kurnool: The Deputy Chief Minister KE Krishnamurthy directed the Transco Superintending Engineer to ensure 12-hour power supply to farm sector. He participated in a general body meeting organised at Zilla Parishad Meeting Hall here on Thursday. Addressing the committee members, Krishnamurthy said the crops are withering away due to interruption in power supply.

He said even the Chief Minister had ordered for 12 hours of power supply to agriculture fields. There would be no water scarcity for irrigation besides drinking as Mucchumarri trial run is about to start soon. He instructed the Zilla Parishad Chief Executive Officer Eshwar to issue a circular to the officials concerned for their presence at the mandal-level meetings. He said five mandals have been declared as drought-hit during 2014 to which an amount of Rs 73 crore was sought to mitigate the drought but the amount was not sanctioned due to some reasons. He informed the agricultural officers to divert the amount from the recently sanctioned funds of Rs 277 crore that was allocated for 40 drought-hit mandals.

District Collector Ch Vijay Mohan said that he will ensure all the officials present during the Zilla Parishad standing committee meeting. He said that he will take care of the patient’s welfare by sanctioning 108 ambulances and ordered the District Medical and Health Officer (DM&HO) for the deputation of sufficient staff. Zilla Parishad Chairman Mallela Raja Sekhar said a resolution has been passed for 12 hour power supply for irrigation sector besides ensuring 16 tmcft of water for Velgodu reservoir. Zilla Parishad likely to get funds of Rs 380 crore which would be disbursed to all mandal parishads, he stated.

Joint Collector C Hari Kiran instructed the electricity officials not to bring pressure on the gram panchyats those have cleared around 30 per cent of power bills. He ordered the DM&HO to educate the concerned officials on medicine e-procurement. MLC Shilpa Chakrapani Reddy urged to organise southern camps at every mandal.

He called for effective implementation of NTR Jalasiri Scheme. MLA BC Janardhan Reddy requested to fill up the vacancy posts of doctors and medical staff at Primary Health Care centres. Later, Krishnamurthy and other members inaugurated the newly constructed DPRC building that was constructed with a cost of Rs 230 crore.
