Govt to extend ESI, medical benefits for porters

Nellore: AP Civil Supplies Corporation Director Sapthagiri Prasad said that the State government is taking measures to extend ESI and medical benefits for porters.

Speaking to the reporters at Civil Supplies Office in city on Thursday, Prasad said that the government had increased salaries to employees despite deficit budget. He also said that commission had also enhanced from 20 paisa to 70 paisa to fair price shop dealers.

The department had handed over gifts to 1.44 lakh beneficiaries for Ramzan, Sankranti and Christmas festivals, he added. About 80 lakh were benefited through new ration cards which were sanctioned in January 2016, he said. Civil Supplies Manager Kondaiah and others were present.
