Tirupati: The unique programme of inviting women devotees to take part in the annual Brahmotsavams of Goddess Padmavathi Devi of Tiruchanur, ‘Sowbhagyam’ will be observed by TTD on Friday.

The women devotees residing in Tirupati, Tiruchanur and surrounding areas will be invited in a traditional way by offering them turmeric, vermilion and bangles which are considered to be the indicative items of prosperity and good fortune for married women. The main motto is to seek the blessings of Goddess Padmavathi Devi for the longevity of spouses of women and also for a blissful marriage life.

The procession of these holy items will commence from Panchami Teertha Mandapam in Tiruchanur on Friday at 3 pm. All the women officers and devotees will take part in this unique event in a big way, according to a TTD press release here on Thursday.

The Ankurarpanm for the nine-day festival will be performed on November 25.
