Speaking to media at the residence of MLC Naresh Kumar Reddy, near here on Saturday, Ramanujaya said that, at the behest of the Chief Minister, the government had made budget allocation of Rs 1,000 crore to Kapu Corporation for taking up welfare and development initiatives for the members of the community which would be fully utilised this year.
Madanapalle (Chittoor): Andhra Pradesh State Kapu Welfare and Development Corporation (APSKWDCL) had, so far, disbursed Rs 858 crore to 4.16 lakh beneficiaries belonging to Kapu, Telaga, Vontari and Balija community for taking up ventures under self employment, said AP Kapu Corporation chairman Chalamalasetty Ramanujaya.
Speaking to media at the residence of MLC Naresh Kumar Reddy, near here on Saturday, Ramanujaya said that, at the behest of the Chief Minister, the government had made budget allocation of Rs 1,000 crore to Kapu Corporation for taking up welfare and development initiatives for the members of the community which would be fully utilised this year.
He said that interviews will be held at all MPDOs offices’ statewide for selection of beneficiaries for providing financial support through the corporation for the Kapu youth.
As part of corporation activities, skill development was provided to 17,000 women with a stipend of Rs 2,000 each during the training period, he said adding that coaching classes will be conducted for the candidates of the community appearing for Group 1 and 2 examinations in the State.
He also sought the various Kapu associations to create awareness on the welfare and development initiatives of the corporation for the benefit of eligible poor to avail them. Former Madanapalle municipal chairman Dr Ravi Kumar, BT College Liaison Officer K Prasad and others were present.
