CTF seizes `12 lakh from businessman
The City Task Force personnel raided Prabhat Clothes store located on Spring Road in Poorna Market and seized around Rs 10 lakh in old currency denominations of Rs 500 and Rs 1,000 and Rs 2.75 lakh in new currency from its owner Mahesh Makhijan.Â

Rs 10 lakh in old currency denominations of Rs 500 and Rs 1,000 and Rs 2.75 lakh in new currency from its owner Mahesh Makhijan.
Though the actual raid was conducted on November 24, the Task Force personnel handed him over to Maharanipeta Police Station along
with the cash for further investigation on Saturday. During the last two days, Mahesh had failed to account for the money although he
claimed to be a wholesale merchant of sarees.
Assistant commissioner of City Task Force I Chittibabu said a letter would be sent to the Joint Director of Income Tax department to
verify Mahesh’s claims and further action would be taken accordingly. No case has been registered yet.
