Visakhapatnam: District Superintendent of Police Rahul Dev Sharma held the month-end crime review meeting here on Saturday and asked the officials to dispose of the motor vehicles lying in various police stations legally and to complete the investigations with regard to the pending SC, ST atrocity cases at the earliest.

The SP asked officials to review the functioning of the regular ‘beat’ system and asked them to apprehend the accused in theft cases and recover stolen property to gain public confidence. Later, he gave away cheques worth Rs one lakh each on behalf of Police Officers’ Association to the family of Head Constables Bhaskar Rao and Narasing Rao, constable Simhachalam.

He also handed over cheques worth Rs 2, 41,225 each to the family members of Home Guards I Varalakshmi and G B Naidu. Later, a power point presentation was given on how to switch over to digital transactions to overcome the problem of liquid cash. Additional SP K Satyanarayana, ASP Aishwarya Rastogi, DSPs P Anil Kumar, M Mahendra and Y V Ramana, Inspector T Sitaram and others were present.
