Srikakulam: Protests against demonetisation of currency notes led by opposition parties gets poor response across the district on Monday.
Congress and YSR Congress leaders remained in their houses and party offices as police were deployed as precautionary measure. CPM and CPI leaders staged agitations in Srikakulam city and other parts of the district. Speaking on the occasion, CPM senior leaders like Chowdari Tejeswara Rao, B Krishna Murthy blamed the NDA government for not addressing the people’s woes.
They alleged that all rich people knew about demonetisation before government orders and exchanged their black money into white and now PM is harassing poor people by changing rules every day. Police intervened and arrested 35 left parties leaders and activists
