In the wake of the demonetization impact on the people across the country, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu is all set to head a committee of Chief Ministers to discuss the plight of the public due to the currency ban announced by the Modi government.

As per the NDTV report, Finance Minister Arun Jaitley has approached Chandrababu on Monday asking him to head the panel and also invited several other Chief Ministers, including Bihar CM Nitish Kumar, to participate in the panel.

Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik is also reportedly to be a part of the panel as he is one of the few Opposition CMs who has not joined the protests against currency ban and has offered support to the BJP government.

The panel is expected to also establish ways towards a cashless economy.

While Chandrababu had been seeking a ban on the high denomination notes to curb black money before the Centre's decision, he welcomed Prime Minister Narendra Modi's move on scrapping Rs 500 and Rs 1000 notes. However, he questioned the need for introducing Rs 2000 notes.

It is said that the BJP government is seeking Tripura CM Manik Sarkar and few Congress CMs's support in the panel.

Even Telangana CM K Chandrashekhar Rao has extended support on demonetization.
