Kurnool: District Collector Ch Vijay Mohan instructed DRDA, DWMA and Agriculture department officials to educate people on the usage of electronic point of scale (ePoS) machines while purchasing provisions and other things. He was speaking at an awareness programme on ePoS held on Monday.

Vijay Mohan ordered the DRDA Project Director Rama Krishna to submit a detailed report furnishing the details of village wise pension disbursing officers, number of bank accounts in their jurisdiction, number of RuPay cards and status of activation and number of Jan Dhan accounts. The Collector asked officials to take up the responsibility of opening a bank account for those who did not have one.

He directed the Agriculture Joint Director Uma Maheshwaramma to submit a report containing the details related to farmers input subsidy, Jan Dan accounts and normal accounts and RuPay cards. He further directed them to submit data of the farmers having bank accounts, branch-wise.

The collector said that the officers of three departments in coordination have to generate awareness among the public on cashless transactions and internet banking, on a war footing. Joint Collector C Hari Kiran, Joint Collector-2 Rama Swamy, District Revenue Officer Gangadhar Goud, Revenue staff and other departmental officers participated in the programme.
