The nation-wide protest call given by Opposition parties received lukewarm response from the people against demonetisation here on Monday.

Since the rallies had more of political leaders than common people, leaving opposition parties in despair. Forcing leaders of Left parties, Congress and YSRCP to organise name-sake rallies and concluded the tepid agitation.
While Left parties conducted rally between Fort and SBI main branch. YSR Congress organised bike rally with party workers and MLC Veerabhadra Swamy had a heated argument with cops. However, markets, shops and business establishments remained open and were going about their business as usual. But some colleges and private schools remain shut.
Congress party has staged dharna in front of Ambedkar statue at Balaji junction and demanded the Union government to release huge quantity of smaller denomination notes.
