Chittoor: District Collector Siddarth Jain has given standing instructions to all the district officers to attend the Prajavani programme to be held on each Monday at the Collectorate. Certain officials were deputing their assistants to the programme which was diluting the spirit of the programme, said P Venkata Subba Reddy, Joint Collector 2 and added that many of the grievances registered at Prajavani would be solved on the spot in the presence of the district officers.

Speaking to The Hans India on Monday at the Collectorate after winding up the Prajavani programme, Venkata Subba Reddy reiterated that Prajavani programme has been proved to be a big success in Chittoor district with the active involvement of the district officers. Though it is mandatory on the part of the district officers to attend the Prajavani as per the instructions of the district collector, several district officers were not attending the programme. All district officials were therefore instructed to attend the Prajavani with complete information and also the ‘Call your Collector’ programme.

He said that all petitions received in the Prajavani would be computerized and appealed to the public not to misuse the programme by leveling false allegations against the district officers or elected representatives.
