Police arrest five of gang
Fourth town police nabbed five persons and seized Rs 7.50 lakh cash from them at Padmavathi Green City under Balaji Nagar police station
Nellore: Fourth town police nabbed five persons and seized Rs 7.50 lakh cash from them at Padmavathi Green City under Balaji Nagar police station limits. The accused have been identified as Otturu Mallikarjuna alias Malli of North Amuluru in Alluru mandal; S Phillip, G Yesobu, P Seenu and B Subbaiah from Kapparallatippa in Bogole mandal.
According to District Superintendent of Police Vishal Gunni, one Chitluri Satish Babu of Nellore had agreed to exchange Rs 10 lakh worth of old currency for a commission of 15 percent for D Vinay Kumar of Kodavalur mandal. While the duo was exchanging cash at Padmavathi Green City, six persons pretending to be cops threatened them and fled away with Rs 8.50 lakh cash of new currency.
They also robbed Satish of Rs 20,000. Satish lodged a complaint with Balaji Nagar police who immediately nabbed the culprits.
