Special officers to resolve cash crunch

Srikakulam: In the wake of demonetisation of Rs 500, 1000 currency notes, special officers were deployed for all mandals across the district to resolve the cash crunch issue at ground level. Collector P Laxminarasimham reviewed the availability of smaller denomination notes at banks and ATMs with bankers here on Monday.
He deployed a district-level officer for each mandal to monitor cash crunch situation besides resolving it. He directed the special officers to stay in their respective mandals on every Tuesday and Wednesday till the issue was settled. Lead bank manager P.Venkateswara Rao was asked to motivate all bankers to open accounts to all 2.25 lakh job card holders under Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (MGNREGS), 37, 319 pensioners under social security scheme on brisk pace.
