​Amaravati: Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu on Tuesday instructed officials to make world-class arrangements for the 104th Indian Science Congress which is to be held at Tirupati from January 3 to 7, 2017.

Participating in the review meeting exclusively for making arrangements for the event, the Chief Minister asked the officials to take it as an opportunity for highlighting the hospitality capabilities of the state government in view of 200 scientists, nine Nobel laureates and 16,000 guests attending the congress.

The government is constituting a committee with ministers -- Ganta Srinivasa Rao, P Narayana, P Manikyala Rao and B Gopalakrishna Reddy -- for supervising the arrangements.

The meeting chaired by the Chief Minister has taken decision to invite Prime Minister Narendra Modi for laying the foundation stone for Science Museum which is to be built on a 100-acre site in Tirupati.

The museum would be constructed on the lines of Hong Kong science museum. Asking officials to utilise the Science Congress for preparing plans for science and technological development and research in the state, the Chief Minister asked the officials to take suggestions from educationists and experts.

Stressing the need for establishing Science Academy in the state, the CM said that the government is planning to announce decision on this front. The representatives from Malaysia, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Kenya, Japan, Singapore, Mozambic and Ivory Coast would attend the meeting.

The research teams and teaching experts from various universities and colleges across the country would take part.

The guests like woman astronaut Sunitha Williams may attend as a special attraction and Lok Sabha speaker Sumitra Mahajan and Union Minister Nirmala Sitharaman would inaugurate the Children and Women Congress.

The officials said that already 1,200 rooms have been booked for this event and special vehicles, including flights are being reserved for providing transportation.

The CM directed the officials to decorate and repair the roads by December second week. TTD JEO Srinivasa Raju was directed to make arrangements to provide darshan for attendants.

The officials were directed to setup mega science exhibition on 7-acre site.
