Machilipatnam: YSRCP president and leader of Opposition in Assembly YS Jaganmohan Reddy on Thursday sounded optimistic on coming to power in the State. “The ruling TDP government would last for only two years and we will come to power in 2019,” he said.

He interacted with families, who were opposing the land acquisition for construction of Machilipatnam Port. Speaking on the occasion, he said that the rule of Chandrababu Naidu would not last long.

“With the grace of God elections might be held within a year,” he said and appealed to the people to pray to Alimighty to end the ‘evil’ rule of Naidu.

He urged them to wait for two more years to get rid of TDP administration. “Naidu will surely receive the wrath of people and lose power. The YSRCP will be voted to power, if elections were held even after two years,” he averred.

He promised not to acquire more than 5,000 acres for the construction of port on coming to power. “Naidu is well aware of the fact that the land prices will shoot up once the port is constructed. He is eyeing the lands and trying to grab them in advance,” he charged.

Jagan made a scathing attack against the Chief Minister and alleged that the latter had been trying to loot 30,000 acres of land in the name of port.

“The same TDP supremo had ruled out requirement of even 5,000 acres earlier,” he reminded and accused Naidu of having little regard for farmers.

Levelling corruption charges against Naidu, Jagan said that the state of farmers in the vicinity of the upcoming port vicinity was pathetic. “The banks were not giving loans to the residents.

As there was no water, the lands are turning barren,” he lamented.He demanded that the Chief Minister should apologise to the people “Naidu had a pact with industrialists and entire land pooling was part of the conspiracy,” he remarked.
