Make WG AIDS-free: Collector

Eluru: West Godavari Collector K Bhaskar flagged off the AIDS awareness rally at Indoor Stadium here on Thursday. Speaking on the occasion, the Collector said that AIDS cases were on decline and called upon the officials and people to make the district AIDS-free.

He said that about 34,618 HIV patients were receiving medicines at ART centres in Eluru Tadepallligudem and Tanuku. ZP chairman Mullapudi Bapiraju, Eluru MLA Badeti Kota Ramarao (Bujji), Mayor Sheikh Noorjahan urged the people to take precautionary measures to control the spread of the disease.

District Medical and Health Officer K Koteswari, District Coordinator of Health Sciences K Shankar Rao, Municipal Commissioner Y Saye Srikanth and others were also present.
