Chittoor: Joint Collector P S Girisha said that the State government has decided to introduce cashless transactions in all its services with an objective of achieving accountability and transparency. He stated that instructions were given to officials concerned to make cashless transactions in all fair price shops from Thursday onwards. He made it clear that money would not be collected from ration card holders for distributing essential commodities.

The Joint Collector inaugurated the Entrepreneurs Development Programme held at DRDA Meeting Hall here on Thursday. Addressing the gathering, Girisha said that officials have created awareness on cashless transactions among operators of 300 Mee Seva centres in the first phase.

He asked Mee Seva centres to implement electronic payments with commitment. He stated that electronic Point of Sale machines would be given to all Mee Seva centres soon. DRDA Project Director Ravi Prakash Reddy and others were present.
