TDP fulfilled all election promises except one: MLA

​Anantapur: Local MLA V Prabhakar Chowdary stated that most of the election pledges given to people either by the Chief Minister or by himself has been fulfilled except one promise.

Addressing a press conference at his party office here on Thursday, Prabhakar stated that underground drainage for the city, drinking water project and outer ring road are the major promises made to the people out of which the outer ring road has been completed while the old pipelines are being replaced at a cost of Rs 150 crore as part of the drinking water project. The underground drainage project being financed by the Central government is in the process of approval.

The same also will be fulfilled shortly, he added. The road over bridge at the Railway gate in Ramnagar is fast progressing but it will take 6-8 months to complete it, the MLA said.

Prabhakar said that 2,120 representations have been received during the week long Jana Chaitanya Yatra. All of them would be attended in a couple of months depending upon the nature of representation whether personal or community oriented. The representations include house sites, houses, pensions, roads development, jobs for unemployed youth, ration cards etc. He said that 60 youth were selected for the Amar Raja group of companies in a job mela held at the behest of the MLA’s invitation.

Replying to a question, Prabhakar said that the dispute over the old town expansion will be dealt by the three-member committee appointed by the Chief Minister.

He said that the national park will be developed to attract local people and tourists. As part of the development plan, a 3-star hotel will be constructed apart from establishing a water world for the children where water sports, swimming and other sports including water scooters will be introduced. Mayor M Swaroopa was also present.
