DPS World School 30th Badminton Nationals have reached the second round which has begun here at Dandamudi Rajagopala Rao Municipal Corporation (DRRMC) stadium on Friday. 

DPS World School 30th Badminton Nationals have reached the second round which has begun here at Dandamudi Rajagopala Rao Municipal Corporation (DRRMC) stadium on Friday.

About 600 players and officials have been participating in the tournament. Under -13, under– 15 boy and girl singles and double events are being conducted at DRRMC Indoor, Siddhartha Mahila Kalasala Indoor and Vijayawada Club Indoor stadiums.

The budding badminton players have enthusiastically participated in the tournament. Some of the players have come with their parents.

Badminton National coach Pullela Gopichand’s daughter Gayatri could not compete in the tourney due to an injury.

Under -15 boy’s singles Andhra Pradesh boy Imran Saik beat J and K player Sharma with a score of 21-11, 21-13. In the second round he beat Rattan Singh from Himachal Pradesh.

Another AP’s player Arshad Shaik and Telangana’s boy B Rithin has entered into third round.

In girls section Andhra Pradesh players Yarlagadda Ashrita, Telengana players Yadavalli Kaivalya Lakshmi, M Meghana Reddy and A Abhilasha entered into their second round.

In Under-13 boy’s singles category AP player R Mohith Reddy, Nidhish Bhat and Sai Kiran Allu won in the first round of matches.

While Telangana players Saahas Kumar potipi Reddy and Anirudh Nyalakonda won over their opponents.

In girls singles AP players Lashya Subudhi, Chiru Haasini Nadella and Donepudi Rashitha won their first round of matches.

Whereas Telangana’s player Srinitya Naraharisetti also won her first match.
