Nellore: District Collector R Mutyala Raju said that the bank branches in the district would receive Rs 160 crore from the RBI. Speaking to the media at his camp office on Friday, the Collector said that about Rs 2,310 crore worth transactions have taken place in which Rs 698 crore were deposited in various branches across the district.

Mutyala Raju said that measures were initiated for cashless transactions in the district. He stated that toll fee will be collected through electronic Point of Sale machines from Friday midnight. He urged commuters to co-operate with the staff members by tendering exact change at the toll plazas. He said they had made arrangements for supplying small notes to plazas from the temples.

The Collector also said that about 35 mandals in the district have received rainfall on Thursday. Loans were re-scheduled in drought prone areas and measures would be taken to sanction new loans to farmers, he added. About Rs 70 lakh were being distributed to daily labourers under National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme. Joint Collector A Md Imtiyaz Ahmed, Lead District Manager T Venkateswara Rao and others were present.
