Nellore: Department of Neurology, Apollo Specialty Hospitals organised the 3rd Annual National Conference here on December 3 and 4. Speaking on the occasion, organising secretary Prof Bindu Menon said that the conference was aimed at teaching Clinical Neurology in which examining patients and arriving at a diagnosis was very important.
Dr Preetha Reddy Executive Vice Chairperson Apollo Hospitals Group was the Chief Guest at the function. She said that the department of Neurology was serving patients and providing treatment on a par with hospitals in major cities. Stroke Treatment with thrombolysis within the 4 and 1/2 hour window period is routinely done.
The Conference was attended by 160 delegates from all over the country including eminent neurologists Dr Shankar Gopinathan-Chennai, Dr Bindu Menon-Nellore, Dr V Natarajan-Chennai, Dr U Meenakshi Sundaran-Chennai, Dr V Jayakumar-Madurai, Dr Sita Jayalakshmi-Hyderabad, Dr Rajguru-New Delhi, Dr MM Mehndiratta-New Delhi, Dr K Venkateswarlu-Visakhapatnam, Dr M Madhusudanan-Trivandrum, Dr R Lakshmi Narasimhan-Chennai, Dr Joy Varghese-Chennai.
Dr Bindu Menon made a Stroke poster for all the doctors with all emergency scoring and pathway for Stroke. This poster which is very useful for all doctors was released by Dr Preetha Reddy.
