Kalikiri: Sainik School organised the third inter-house cross country race among the cadets of four houses Godavari, Krishna, Penna and Tungbhadra. Offg Principal Squadron Leader TK Sumesh was the Chief Guest on the occasion. The cadets of four houses participated with zeal and vied with one another for the crown of Championship.
In the individual category for Seniors, Cdt Kalim Akhtar bagged the first position for the third consecutive time bettering his previous timing. Cadet Saurabh Kumar of Krsishna and Cadet Vikas Kumar of Tungabhadra stood in the second and the third positions respectively.
Tungbhadra House was more elated with Cadet Rishi Ranjan adding to their glory with the first position in Juniors’ category. Cadet Jadav Karthik and Cadet Prithu Raj of Penna House stood in the second and the third positions respectively. However Krishna House was the proud winner of overall championship claiming it for the first time followed by Godavari in the second, Penna in the third and Tungabhadra in the fourth positions respectively.
Squadron Leader TK Sumesh, Offg Principal and the Chief Guest of the occasion honoured the winning house with the championship trophy. Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Guest congratulated all participants and extended special appreciation for the triumphant Krishna House. He said that running not only deals with physical stamina but mental toughness and urged the cadets to develop keen interest towards sports and games.
