Nellore: Agrigold customers, agents and members of Welfare Association have decided to organise Pada Yatras and Jeep Jatas in the villages across the state for justice to the customers and agents of the firm. At an all-party meeting held in the city on Sunday for the benefit of Agri gold agents and customers, political leaders cutting across party lines expressed solidarity with the victims of Agrigold and promised to extend them their support.

Nellore city MLA P Anil Kumar Yadav said that even though the government had spent Rs. 2,500 cr for Krishna Pushkaralu it had failed to do justice to 25 lakh victimized families of Agrigold. Anil Kumar also assured the gathering that the opposition party would extend its support on the issue if the government raises the issue during the Assembly sessions.

Agrigold Customers and Agents Welfare Association State general secretary V Tirupalaiah said that as many as 40 lakh families who were deceived by Agrigold were in dire financial straits and that nearly 100 people had either ended their lives or died due to the shock of the fraud perpetrated on them. He demanded that the government disburse Rs 1,000 crore to the customers immediately.

He also asked the Central Bureau of Investigation authorities to reveal the details of the probe into Agrigold and place their findings online. He further demanded that the government pay Rs 10 lakh as compensation to the victims and cancel the illegal sale of land of Agrigold at Tirupati. He also said that the association members should tour all villages across the State to get support for their cause. Rural MLA K Sridhar Reddy, former legislator M Sridhar Krishna Reddy, BJP State spokesperson S Suresh Reddy, CPI district secretary Parthasarathi and others were present.
