Vishnu school to get Atal Tinkering Lab
Vishnu School of Sri Vishnu Educational Society, Bhimavaram, has achieved the distinction of being selected as the only school
Bhimavaram: Vishnu School of Sri Vishnu Educational Society, Bhimavaram, has achieved the distinction of being selected as the only school from West Godavari, Andhra Pradesh to establish Atal Tinkering Laboratories (ATL) of NITI Aayog. Out of 13,005 schools across the country and 1207 schools from Andhra Pradesh applied for establishing the lab. Only 595 schools have been shortlisted for the final selection (Innovation Challenge).
Students K Lovely Srenika of Class X, DSB Vaishnavi, S Nikhitha and I Harish Varma of Class IX represented Vishnu School, in the Innovation Challenge conducted at Osmania University, Hyderabad. They presented two projects on Prevention of Accidents caused by drunken driving and monitoring the water quality of Aqua Ponds. On the basis of the presentation, 257 schools from India, 8 schools from Andhra Pradesh and only Vishnu School from West Godavari District have been selected for establishing Atal Tinkering Laboratories (ATL).
This lab will provide the students work space to shape their ideas and an opportunity to work with tools and equipment to develop innovative skills and understand the basic concepts of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics). This would ignite the young minds and help them create products to serve the society.
