Minister N Chandrababu Naidu on Tuesday, CPI State secretary K Ramakrishna said that the FCI warehouse was the biggest of all
warehouses in Rayalaseema region and provides employment to 500 people.
The State government with an intention to privatise the godown and shifted the workers to various godowns at Hanuman Junction, Eluru,
Nidadavolu and Kakinada. He said farmers had become workers in the warehouse after they had given their lands for the construction of the
warehouse. Ramakrishna said it was unfortunate to privatise a warehouse, which provide emplacement to people in the drought-hit area. He
demanded the State government withdraw the decision.
