Cyclone Vardah to hit AP coast on Dec 12

Andhra Pradesh coast is to be hit with Cyclone Vardah on December 12 and the fishermen have been advised not to venture into the sea from December 10.

According to the India Meteorological Department press release, a depression developed over southeast Bay of Bengal on December 6 and intensified into a deep depression in the midnight of Wednesday. Over South east Bay of Bengal, the depression is turned into a cyclonic storm “VARDAH” on Thursday morning.

In the next 24 hours, it is likely to intensify further into a severe cyclonic storm and is expected to cross Andhra Pradesh coast between Nellore and Kakinada on December 12.
