“We are studying Singapore and Israel model of digital currency plans and will follow the suit to overcome the crisis,” he asserted

Reviewing the demonetisation challenges with officials via teleconference from Delhi on Friday, he said that AP should be model for the country in the implementation of cashless transactions. He also mentioned that State could get Rs 4000 crore worth Rs 500 notes every day starting December 15.

Explaining the details of recent meeting with Niti Aayog, Reserve Bank of India (RBI) chairmen and managing directors of various banks, the Chief Minister said that discussions were held in positive atmosphere.

He said that efforts of the State government to mitigate crisis was brought to the notice of members of the meeting.

He cited that Nandan Nilekani has praised Andhra Pradesh for linking the Aadhaar to Public Distribution System. “IT secretary of Central government termed the State’s Fibre Grid project as model for the country,” he informed.

Naidu, while praising the officials asked them to continue work with the same spirit to tide over challenges due to demonetisation.

“People have been facing hardships from scrapping of high value notes but at the same time they are patiently hoping for good future of the country,” he reiterated.

He called upon the banking officials to take steps for saving the farming community.
