Guntur: Minister for Municipal Administration P Narayana said that they will finalise the dates for 150 anniversary fete of Guntur district after discussing with Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu.The proposed dates for the celebrations are on February 17, 18 and 19, he said and directed the officials to complete the pending development works as early as possible.

The proposed dates for the celebrations are on February 17, 18 and 19, he said and directed the officials to complete the pending development works as early as possible.

He was addressing a meeting at the council hall in municipal corporation office here on Saturday.

He said that there is a need to construct bridges at Syamalanagar and Moodu Vanthenala Centre in the city. He said that they will shift the district jail from there and construct new buildings on the premises.

He directed the officials to prepare plans to construct new buildings. He said that they will develop The B R Stadium on the lines of international stadium and an auditorium near Sri Venktaeswara Vignana Mandiram.

The government has sanctioned Rs 70 crore for the development of infrastructure in the slums under the SC, ST Sub-Plan.

He reminded that the district administration has sanctioned 11,088 houses to the poor and out of which 3,500 individual houses would be built.

Minister for Agriculture Prathipati Pulla Rao said that the Central government has sanctioned Rs 903 crore for underground drainage scheme and added that Rs 70 crore was sanctioned to development of infrastructure in SC, ST Colonies.

Minister for Social Welfare Ravela Kishore Babu, MLAs Modgula Venugopala Reddy, Kommalapati Sridhar, GMC officials were among those participated.
