K L Varsity convocation on December 24
Vijayawada: K L University’s sixth annual convocation will be held on December 24 at the convocation hall in the university. ISRO Chairman A S Kiran Kumar will be the chief guest and Prof. Worsak Kanok. Nukulchal, president, Asian Institute of Thailand, Bangkok, will be the guest of honour, and deliver the convocation address.

In a press release here on Saturday, university registrar Prof T Umamaheswara Rao said those students who completed Ph D, M Tech, MBA, MCA B Tech, BBA and B Com successfully during the academic year 2015-2016 would be awarded the degrees in the convocation.
It is expected that around 2,500 students will receive their degrees during the convocation.
Similarly, the gold and silver medals and cash awards will also be presented to candidates who secured first and second rank respectively.
All the students, who wish to receive their Original Degree (OD) in person in the sixth convocation, are advised to apply in advance on or before December 16, the registrar said.
Umamaheswara Rao said that around 1,600 scholars have been admitted in both part time and full time Ph D programmes in the university since 2009-10 academic year and the university was conferring Ph D degrees on 12 research scholars.
