Vijayawada: One of the high density populated areas in the city, Singnagar and Payakapuram will get a new Rythu Bazar by February, 2017.

The works of new Rythu Bazar complex at Payakapuram area are going on a brisk pace under the supervision of agriculture and marketing department. State government has allotted Rs 70 lakh for the construction of new Rythu Bazar.

Payakapuram and Ajitsingnagar areas are at entry point of Vijayawada for those who enter the city through Vijayawda- Nuziveedu State highway.

Population is growing rapidly in those areas and they have become new destination to the people of the city who want to own a new house as land or flats rates are affordable to middle class. People also prefer these areas as house rentals are also better compared to other parts of the city.

The existing Rythu Bazar at Ajitsingnagar is unable to cater to the needs of two lakh population in the area.

They visit Kedareswarapet and Swaraj Maidan Rythu Zazar to buy vegetables and other provisions.

In this backdrop, the State government has sanctioned Rs 70 lakh for the construction of a new model Rythu Bazar in Vijayawada Municipal Corporation site in Payakapuram.

The new Rythu Bazar will have 65 shops and it will be also useful for the residents of Kandrika, Piple Road and villages of Vijayawada rural mandal, including Nunna, Pathapadu and Ramavarppadu.

Vijayawada Central constituency MLA Bonda Umamaheswara Rao said the new Rythu Bazar will function from February next year.

The process of allotting shops to farmers and other works will be completed by January, he said.
