Police foil farmers’ efforts to halt Divis lab works

Tuni: The police arrested several farmers for trying to obstruct construction of Divis Laboratories unit with deployment of heavy machinery at Pampadipeta in Tondangi mandal of East Godavari district on Sunday.
The police were accused of behaving in a high-handed manner with journalists too. When a girl protested against the arrest of her mother, media tried to capture the incident. But, the police snatched their cameras and sent the media personnel away.
The police allegedly snatched the media accreditation cards of journalists and took reporters of some channels into custody. However, with the intervention of the higher authorities the media personnel were let off.
