Air traffic disrupted

Tirupati: Train service and bus services have been badly affected because of the cyclone Vardah that lashed that lashed part of Chittoor district on Monday.

According to railway authorities, Garudadri Express and Sapthagiri Express from Chennai to Tirupati were cancelled and a passenger train from to Chennai was also cancelled due to the cyclone.

RTC authorities suspended all bus services to Chennai, Tiruttsni and Kanchipuram from noon following the intensity of the rains and heavy winds.

The international airport at Renigunta was also damaged due to the heavy winds with a part of its roof ripped apart disrupting air traffic.

Flight services remained cancelled and only one Jet airways flight reached here in the morning.
