Tirupati: With the meteorological department sounding heavy rains in Tirumala for the next two days due to the effect of cyclone "Vardha", TTD EO Dr D Sambasiva Rao alerted officers and staff of Vigilance, Forest and Engineering wings of TTD to me more cautious.

During the weekly review meeting held in his chambers at TTD administrative building in Tirupati on Monday, the Executive Officer laid stress on the precautionary measures to be taken at the two ghat roads.

The vigilance, engineering and forest officials should be on the alert round-the-clock especially at the vital points to avoid any sort of inconvenience to the pilgrims, the EO said.

Meanwhile, two earthmovers - one stationed at Mokalimettu and another at Alipiri were kept ready - by the TTD to remove boulders if any.

A team of officials with a Deputy Executive Engineer, vigilance officer and a forest officer have also been constituted for surveillance by TTD.

Tirupati JEO P Bhaskar, Additional FACAO Balaji, CE Chandrasekhar Reddy, Additional CVSO Sivakumar Reddy and other HoDs were present.
