Post the destruction caused by Cyclone Vardah in Andhra Pradesh, the Nellore district administration are currently working to restore power supply in the affected regions.

Several villages suffered due to the unavailability of power supply which was disrupted due to strong winds that uprooted the electric poles.

Nearly 594 villages in 18 mandals witnessed shortage in power supply and work is in progress in the coastal areas while 90 percent power has been restored in urban limits. At least 820 poles were damaged across the district in the cyclone and so far 598 poles have been restored.

Due to cyclone Vardah, upland areas in Nellore district recieved 8.6 cm rainfall which although is useful for the farming community but has affected the coastal areas. The reservoirs are continuously receiving waters from inflows in the upper areas and 30 to 40 percent of banana trees were uprooted in the aftermath of the cyclone.
