Municipal Administration Minister P Narayana, reviewed the arrangements being made for 104th Indian Science Congress (ISC) to be held here from
January 3.


Speaking to media contingent, here on Tuesday, the Ministers said that elaborate arrangements were being made for the
successful conduct of the five-day event.


They said as Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu was instrumental for organising the meeting at Tirupati and the officials should take the event as prestigious and ensure its success.

“Along with ISC, Children's Science Congress and Women Science Congress will also be held at different venues,” they said.

On the arrangements for the meet, they said that 23 hostel blocks having 1,600 rooms in SV university campus were reserved for delegates, while accommodation for Nobel laureates, international and national scientists,
senior government officials and institutions would be provided
in the local star hotels.

Help desks will be set up at Tirupati and Chennai international airports, Renigunta,
Tirupati Railway station and also at Tirupati RTC bus station for providing information and guiding the delegates arriving from various States and abroad to
the ISC.

A Science Exhibition will also be organised on a 7 acre ground. Arrangements are made on a large scale as it is expected that two lakh visitors including students, interested public would visit the exhibition and other events connected with 5-day ISC meeting,” the Ministers said.

They also directed TTD authorities to illuminate the pilgrim
city and give a touch of festivity to the science meet, besides providing darshan to the 23,000
delegates.

TTD EO Dr D Sambasiva Rao, vice-chancellors of SVU and SPMVV A Damodaram and V Durga Bhavani were also present.
