Chinturu (East Godavari): Two Maoists from Sabari committee have surrendered before East Godavari Superintendent of Police M Raviprakash, here on Tuesday.

Addressing media conference, the SP said that the couple Madakam Bandi alias Kamalesh and Vetti Unga alias Jyothi residents of Yetapaka mandal have involved in various offences.

“Jyothi is a senior member in the committee and committed several offences from 2012. Kamalesh joined Sabari committee in the year 2015 and participated only in one offence in 2016,” he informed.

According to SP, Jyothi was lured into the group by committee member Sharmila. She was only 15 then and left her home following a dispute.

She was actively involved in underground activities of Sabari dalam.

She is carrying 0.303 weapon and was trained under Naresh, Nagesh and Rajitha.

She participated in 2013 Baidichalama encounter that took place between Khammam police and Maoists.

In 2014, she took part in Darmapeta encounter that took place in Chhattisgarh. She also took part in Burakankota murders of Kunjam Brahmaiah and Kunjam Seetaramaiah.

She also participated in two encounters in Chhattisgarh in 2016 at Pamedu and Buttem and she was one of the key persons in planting IEDs at Pega village in Chinturu in 2016.

Madakam Bandi alias Kamalesh joined dalam in 2015 and trained in Chhattisgarh under Nagesh.

After training, he took part in an encounter between police and Maoists at Buttem in Chhattisgarh.
