Eluru A driver died and nine others including three children were injured, when the tractor with marriage party overturned in a field channel at Nakkala Kalva near Achanta village on Wednesday.
According to police, about 40 people boarded a tractor to attend a marriage at Pandithavilluru village in Achanta Mandal. After marriage, they were on their way back to their native place Kodamanchili. The mishap occurred when driver tried to avoid hitting a cyclist, he lost control over the tractor, which overturned and fell in the field channel of Nakkala Kalva.
The local came to the rescue of the injured and called the ambulance. Driver of the vehicle Gollapudi Sandeep (18) died while he was on way to Palacole Government Hospital. Kombathula Rajkumar (18), Gummadi Pradeep (10), Devabathula Saroja (50) Challapudi Manga (40), Nakka Suresh (38), Devabathula Sandeep (10), Devabathula Naresh(13), Gummadi Kamaliraju (25) and Kakara Suresh (18) were seriously injured in the mishap.
The seriously injured were taken to Palacole Government Hospital, while others were admitted in Achanta Primary Health Centre. A case has been registered.
