3 die in separate accidents

Eluru: Three people including a woman were killed and another injured in two separate road accidents in West Godavari district on Wednesday.

Kalidindi Balaji and his wife Bhagyavathi (29) of Ganapavaram village were returning to from Bhimavaram town, when the motorcycle in which they were travelling collided head-on with another motorcycle driven by K Katlayya (22). Bhagyavathi and Katlayya died on the spot. Katlayya was working at a fishpond in Ardhavaram village in Undi Mandal.

In another incident Daparla Durga Prasad (55) of Maruthinagar of Patamata of Vijayawada died on the spot, when a mini truck crashed at Gundugolanu. Durga Prasad was an earth movers mechanic and went to Polavaram work site to repair an earth mover with his friend on Tuesday. He was returning to Vijayawada and reached Gundugolanu on Wednesday.

He stopped at the Gundugolanu junction on National highway to have a cup of tea along with his friend. A mini truck lost control and crashed killing Durga Prasad in the process.

Denduluru police reached the spot and sent the body for autopsy to Eluru government hospital. A case has been registered.
