50 cr sanctioned for foundation course

Nellore: City Mayor Abdul Aziz said the State government had allocated Rs 50 crore for providing advanced foundation course to the students of classes 6 to 10, during a review meeting with headmasters of municipal schools in the city on Wednesday. He said a total of 2,400 students were being trained in two districts and they had selected 800 students for the course and finally filtered only 200 who were being trained at RSR high school in the city.

Specialized teachers were imparting coaching to the students, he said. He also said that Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu had been showing special interest in poor and intelligent students and had instructed Municipal Minister Narayana for starting the advanced course. The course will be a boon for poor and meritorious students and people would soon throng Municipal Schools if the children get good ranks in competitive examinations, he explained.
