Collector visits rural banks to know roblems first-hand

Visakhapatnam: Collector Praveen Kumar visited the branches of Andhra Bank and Indian Bank at Chodavaram and V Madugula mandals in the district on Wednesday to examine the functioning of banks, customers’ woes in getting money and availability of currency notes.

He interacted directly with the customers, pensioners, women and bank staff and assessed the situation while the bank officials apprised the Collector that despite the staff crunch, they were managing with the existing staff without inconveniencing the customers. When the bank officials brought to the notice of Praveen Kumar that some changes have to be made at the ATMs to suit the new currency notes, the latter assured of necessary help in this regard.

During his interaction, when some pensioners complained that the pension amount was not credited to their accounts, the Collector assured that he would talk to the officials concerned immediately to solve the problem.

The customers, pensioners and women expressed happiness with the Collector’s visit hoping that their problems could be solved with such visits.
