Energy saving drive soon in West Godavari
West Godavari Collector K Bhaskar said that a comprehensive plan would be implemented to conserve energy by encouraging LED lights and fans in every household in the district.
Eluru: West Godavari Collector K Bhaskar said that a comprehensive plan would be implemented to conserve energy by encouraging LED lights and fans in every household in the district.
He flagged off the awareness rally as a part of energy saving week celebrations here at the indoor stadium on Wednesday.
Speaking on the occasion, the Collector said that it was decided to change all the lights in the domestic use of LED. “However, due to delay in production of LED bulbs, it is not implemented. Soon, every household will have the LED lighting. At present, the EPDCL is encouraging the high speed fan with low consumption of power,” he informed.
He said that West Godavari topped the country in providing hundred per cent power connections to houses. “LED street lighting was installed in towns and soon 902 panchayats will have the same,” he asserted.
Bhaskar said that the government was encouraging solar power and a 5 mw plant was inaugurated by Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu at Gollagudem.
EPDCL superintending engineer Ch Satyanarayana Reddy, NEDCAP district manager DV Prasad and others participated in the programme.
