Free cancer screening camp on Dec 18, 19
The State Bank of India Pensioners\' Association, Vijayawada unit, will organise a free cancer screening camp at KVSR Siddhartha
Vijayawada: The State Bank of India Pensioners' Association, Vijayawada unit, will organise a free cancer screening camp at KVSR Siddhartha College of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Pinnamaneni Polyclinic road here from 9 am to 5 pm on December 18 and 19. The association deputy general secretary said that it would help the poor and senior citizens who cannot afford the cost of investigating and detecting cancer.
The camp is sponsored by Telugu Association of North America (TANA) in association with Basava Tarakam Indo-American Cancer Hospital & Research Institute, Hyderabad The screening tests would be carried out by 22 experienced doctors and medical personnel. Mammography, pap smear, ultra-sound scanning and x-rays will be conducted on patients.
Unhealed ulcers, swelling/hardening of breasts, lumps in any section of the body, changes in birth marks/warts, long standing cough, coarse of the throat, continued indigestion and or difficulty in swallowing, sudden changes in the digestive system, urinating/excreting, white discharge in women, irregular menstrual cycle are some of the symptoms of cancer, he added.
