The St Ann’s College of Engineering and Technology (SACET) received A Grade from the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC), an autonomous institution of the University Grants Commission (UGC). The UGC setup NAAC grading to institutions, universities in India to award more funds and projects based on the performance and infrastructure of the college.

A three member Assessment and Accreditation (A and A) committee, under the chairmanship of a Vice Chancellor will visit the college and award grade points for the credentials of the teaching staff, campus environment, college atmosphere, placements, alumni track record, innovations by staff and students, infrastructure of labs and research facilities etc.

The St Ann’s College of Engineering and Technology received NAAC A Grade in 2011 earlier and received the same grade again in renewal after the A and A committee scrutiny in November. P Ravi Kumar, principal of the college said, “Our college offers five under graduation and nine post graduation programs with 252 members of faculty. In them, there are 26 PhD and 11MPhil awarded while 36 are pursuing PhD now.

The infrastructure, environment, research programmes with ISRO and SIEMENS, incubation centers by each department, library with more than 40000 volumes, international conferences for every year helped us achieve the A grade again. This helps us getting more funds and research opportunities like we made MoU with ISRO this year.”

V Rama Kishna Rao, secretary of the college said, “The A Grade from NAAC is the collective effort of our staff and students. With this recognition our college has become the only private institution in Prakasam, Guntur and Krishna districts which received the NAAC A grade again. We thank our students and staff for the efforts and dedication towards the job.”
